This website and blog were started after 14 years of “battling” agencies for services for my children and clients and experiencing the emotional exhaustion that parents with autism have!  I also have never felt I could help enough children with autism and I believe this blog will help me to reach out and help more children and their families!!

Parents have no idea that when they enter the world of autism, it means they have to learn to be a Behavior Analyst, Occupational Therapist/Sensory Integration savvy, Physical Therapist, Speech Therapist, advocate and the list may go on…and then maybe they will get to be just a MOM!

I help parents learn how to predict and prevent behaviors and what that is like and how they can adapt for EVERYTHING!  Motivation is the key to getting most children with autism to learn!

This blog opens parent’s eyes to the struggles it can take to be creative and always a step ahead in order to keep their child motivated to learn because it’s so hard for them. I help prepare parents for the sad truth about the friendships that are lost and the friendships that are gained. I use my experience and knowledge to show how intensive early interventions are the key to all future progress. I am able to teach parents it’s OK to mourn every time you receive a new diagnosis or read a new evaluation of your child.  Parents have to learn that it is OK to make mistakes, that’s how you learn and I equip parents with knowledge so less mistakes are made.  Parents need so much help dealing and coping with Autism besides the chore of constantly advocating for their child/children so they receive a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) as mandated by law.  My goals is to make parents walk a less bumpy road and to get them a direct route to appropriate services!!

I am an Autism Nanny™, Autism Parenting Specialist, Behavioral Consultant and Board Certified Education Advocate.  I serve families with children with autism from ages 2-6 years old.

I provide intensive individual support working with the entire family and the child's team, facilitating the receipt of appropriate intensive early intervention treatment. Primary caregivers will receive needed training that will greatly benefit the children with autism and their families that will build a strong skill foundation during childhood so that they can succeed later in life. I provide assistance addressing specific educational, behavioral, social, recreational, family and pre-transition needs and help families access services and supports that maximize independence and secure the highest quality of life.

According to the Autism Society of America, the cost of lifelong care can be reduced by two-thirds with early diagnosis and appropriate intensive intervention. Without early intensive intervention, the symptoms of autism can worsen, resulting in more costly treatment over the course of a lifetime.
